For Christian American readers of this blog:

I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.

The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!

A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:

"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."

Thanks Jack!

I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Sam and Jeanie and the SEC tournament with Judi Cole

Jeanie and I and good friend, Judi Cole, returned from Catlanta Monday afternoon after a great weekend of SEC basketball tournament games in Catlanta.  Being a Kentucky basketball fan is a wonderful experience to ensure  a lifetime's entertainment.  It is certainly special to see some spring (75 degree beautiful days in Atlanta and begin the process of leaving a terrible winter.

We left Wednesday morning and stayed in Knoxville at a Microtel that night.  That is approximately two-thirds of the way to Atlanta.  By the team's good work in winning their last eight of nine games and finishning second in the tough SEC, UK drew a bye for the Thursday games.    We had a relaxing drive to Atlanta (Judi did most of the driving for us older folks).

We checked in to the  Westin Peachtree (a special block of rooms by http://www.wildcatnation.net/) and the valets parked our Prius.  Judi's daughter, Kara, picked her up that evening and she was able to see her two grandchildren and spend the next two nights with Kara's family.

Kentucky looked good in dispatching Mississippi Friday afternoon and  Alabama on Friday.  Florida was next and they had beaten UK 70-68 in overtime at their place earlier in the season.  In the last couple of weeks of the regular season, UK beat Florida, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee to close out tyhe season for second place.  Now Florida loomed in the SEC finals for Sunday afternoon and once again the Cats beat them for the tournament title.  How sweet it is!

Coach Cal said the coaching staff was exhilarated since they had won six straight tournament victories without a loss in their two years at UK.  He said further that somebody burst his bubble by pointing out that Coach Adolph without a loss.  This coach gets IT much more than a formerly excellent UK coach, Rick Pitino, who definitely helped Kentucky, but thought that he had created the program due to his oversized ego.

We drove back to Knoxville and stayed again at the Microtel.  Hint:  Pick up Travel Coupons from http://www.travelcoupons.com/ on the internet or or from each state's welcome center and use the coupons from a motel of your choice.  We have used the Microtel in Lexington for a clean night of sleep and a continental breakfast and did the same in Knoxville.  It was available for $37.95.

We arrived home Monday afternoon, tired but well entertained by our Catlanta trip and a Kentucky basketball team, good and getting better.  We also enjoyed reunion meetings with other great fans from http://www.wildcatnation.net/ from all over and supported our Wildcats by being part of a sea of blue in the Georgia Dome.  Our players obviously enjoyed the home away from home.
