Christians and government- Xenos teacher- Ryan Lowery
Xenos has excellent teaching at 9:30 AM each Sunday. Normally Doctor Jeff Gordon instructs but he was out and Ryan Lowery, a graduate history major from Ohio State, and about forty years old, had today's lesson on Christians and government from Romans Chapter 13. Ryan did an excellent job without entering into today's politics except at the end where he stressed that one can be a liberal, conservative or independent Christian American. The "render unto Caesar the things that are Caeser's and to God the things that are God's" I am so familiar with :
Matthew 22:21 "Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

Romans 13:7 Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
I call this SamKat blog that of a Christian Conservative but any reader can easily tell that I post conservative things repeatedly. I must keep in mind that God reserves the right to judge each one of us.
Again, Ryan's teaching was excellent this morning and I must continually be reminded.
Neither Theocracies, whereby the church rules government and such as Rome's, have been successful, nor have commuunistic or fascist governments. The USA's is a partnership and Christians must respect the government and present the loving ways of God in all of their dealings with others.
