NAVY JUST TOLD OBAMA TO **** IT?
You might have heard what happened regarding the Gadsen Flag this week.
The famous flag from the Revolutionary War which reads “Don’t Tread on Me,” has been branded by the Obama administration as a symbol of racism.
Even though the flag directly relates to a sincere resistance to an overbearing government, the liberals have said it directly ties in with the ancient practice of slavery.
With that declaration, they’ve effectively painted everyone who thinks the Gadsen flag is worth flying as a racist.
But here’s the thing.
Most Americans don’t believe the Gadsen flag is racist. In fact, the US Navy stands by the rich heritage of the Gadsen flag and its representation of Freedom they told Obama to suck it.
From Federalist Papers:As you’ll recall, Barack Obama’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission made waves when it suggested that the Gadsden Flag – the yellow banner with the coiled snake about to strike and the words” Don’t Tread On Me” (DTOM) below – might be racist. As of October 1, any sailor who is wearing the “NWU Type III” uniform can wear the Gadsden Flag patch. Seals and other special units may also wear the patch, WeAreTheMighty.com is reporting.“During garrison and non-tactical exercises or operations, the non-tactical DTOM and Reverse Flag patches may be optionally worn at the discretion of the unit commanding officer and at the expense of the Sailor,” the Navy announced in Navy Administrations Message 174/16. “During tactical deployment exercises and operations, a tactical DTOM and Reverse Flag patch may be worn at the discretion of the unit commander and approval from the Task Force or Joint Task Force Commander.”
You gotta love how Obama and his minions are getting rebuffed by the Navy. And don’t misunderstand the importance of this either. The U.S, military under Obama has taken some huge and disheartening steps to undermine conservative values.
But it looks like the people who are in the chain of command know better than to allow the twisted people working for Obama to meddle with military tradition.
One can only hope the Navy’s stand for the Gadesn flag spills over into the other branches of the military.
