I would argue that taking down a few hundred statues of Generals which are on PUBLIC LANDS who fought AGAINST the United States of America and who fought for the ENSLAVEMENT of the ancestors of current Citizens of the United States of America is not erasing history.
I would make the same argument regarding taking down the Confederate Battle Flags from public spaces.
I don't want the taxes which the government forces me to pay going for maintenance of statues to people who fought for the continuation of slavery. I don't see descendants of Veterans of the Army of the Potomac or the Armies of the West having a great desire to be taxed to maintain statues of men who fought against their ancestors.
Perhaps, it is just me but should not America be promoting AMERICAN values and not Confederate values?
Should be not be memorializing folks who fought for freedom as opposed to folks who fought for the continuance of slavery?
Are we going to start memorializing the Unabomber and Tim McVeigh next? They were anti-Federal Government as well.
Should we erect statues to Stalin and Mao along side those of Jefferson Davis and Alexander Stephens? Perhaps, a statue to Che and Fidel next to those. Then we can get to work on memorializing Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.
Awesome sauce....Dave

I know that you maintain a point of view which often might run counter to my own, David. I know you think things out. with a well-practiced mind. I respect that. You have been a soldier and a contractor employee and Afghan soldier trainer for decades in the Middle East.
I trust that we will remain friends throughout our time on earth. I love you, brother.
I agree with President Trump that the mob scene was evil on both sides. I suspect Soros, whom I am sure supports Wahhabi
ideology with the Saudis. The mention of Wahhabi comes from our first lengthy discussion at an SEC tournament years ago.
Soros likes unrest in all parts of this world, especially in America. It is time to come together. The Civil War is over. Let the Alts fight it among themselves.
