Subject: Getting Older
For you my friends
Hopefully it will work!
Please send back. ( I did ) It's neat. Don't delete this one, you'll laugh when you see the return message.
I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend.. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.
I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.
Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ... I will.
I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.
They, too, will get old.
I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.
Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.
I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face.
So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore..
I've even earned the right to be wrong.
So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever,
but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day(if I feel like it).
MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART!

For Christian American readers of this blog:
I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.
The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!
A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:
"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."
Thanks Jack!
I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Dawood Kahn's writings influence our good Kentucky fan and friend, Judi Cole
You are very observant, Judi.
Dave is probably about 40 or 50. He is a Kentucky fan through and through with an observing eye on the Middle Eastern part of our globe. I met him in Atlanta at an SEC tournament and we spent about an hour of good conversation in the hotel lobby. My habit is to get up early and do some computer- writing or reading. I have done that most of my life which I began doing while in engineering school at UK. I would come home tired from class, set the alarm for two in the morning, go to sleep and wake up and study while Jeanie and Jay and everybody else in our Cooperstown apartments were sleeping. I would go back to sleep for a few hours when I "hit a wall". It was an excellent time to study without distraction. I often go to the hotel lobby to read so as not to wake Jeanie with the light when we are traveling.
On one morning Dave was coming in from a night out on Atlanta with his two brothers about three in the morning. He sat and talked with me as the other two went back out into the city. Dave had been an Army Ranger in the Middle East and returned there as a civilian employee of the Army. He has many years of Middle East living and has traveled extensively in that part of the world. We shared our conservative views. Dave is mistrustful of many religions, even Christianity, but says he may be closer to Buddism. His monicer for computer then was "blueheritic". Jeanie's and my mutual friend, Rick Brizendine, knows Dave well and says Dave was very close to Christianity with his mother as a child. He has been a wild hair and the Ranger exploits testify that he is dar n near fearless. He is immensely loyal to our Wildcats as is "WildcatRick" Brizendine. If you have my book, "Cyber-Cat fans", each of the guys posted a lot in there.
I am happy that David Kaelin, aka Dawood Kahn, is a good friend of mine. He is including much from www.silkroadsandsiamesesmiles.com in books I hope to begin seeing out soon.

The Andulusia Delusion
In Middle East, Military, Politics, Religion, Spirituality, islam on August 5, 2010 at 5:38 pm
This is the great house of tolerance from whence the Cordoba Initiative derives it’s name.
I’m sure it is a great source of pride for Muslims. It’s an affront to any Christian, Jew and non-Muslims in general.
He may as well call it the Andalusia Initiative.
Andalusia, also known as al Andalus, was the name of that part of Spain conquered by the Muslims. A piece of the old World of Christians and the West forcibly taken by Islamic Warriors and later retaken by the Spanish. Cordoba was the greatest of the Cities of Andalusia. Al Andulus was under Muslim rule from about 711 until 1492.
Why would a tolerant and peace loving Sufi name his initiative after this era of history. An era of Muslim domination of Christians and southern Spain. It seems that he is reliant upon the ignorance of the masses to not understand the slight of his name selection.
although Professor Ormsby does offer some muted criticism of Abdul Rauf’s hagiography of Muslim Spain, once again, this critique grossly understates the historical reality and the alarming depth of the distortion:
For example, he heads up a venture called the Cordoba Initiative, inspired by a rose-colored view of medieval Islamic Spain. Of Muslim Cordoba, a city of great and subtle culture but one also riven by ethnic and tribal rivalries, he writes: “For many centuries, Islam inspired a civilization that was particularly tolerant and pluralistic…Great philosophers such as Maimonides were free to create their historic works within the pluralistic culture of Islam.” He sees this as a model for the future but fails to note that Maimonides, the great Jewish philosopher who wrote in Arabic, had to escape Cordoba with his family when a mere teenager because of the intolerance of the Almohad Dynasty, moving first to Fez and finally settling in Cairo.
From the two greatest modern historians of Muslim Spain, Evariste Levi-Provencal8 and Charles Emmanuel Dufourcq,9 we learn the following, all of which occurred before (and thus in addition to) the 12th century Almohad persecutions alluded to by Professor Ormsby:
Iberia (Spain) was conquered in 710-716 AD by Arab tribes originating from northern, central and southern Arabia. Massive Berber and Arab immigration, and the colonization of the Iberian peninsula, followed the conquest. Most churches were converted into mosques. Although the conquest had been planned and conducted jointly with a faction of Iberian Christian dissidents, including a bishop, it proceeded as a classical jihad with massive pillages, enslavements, deportations and killings. Toledo, which had first submitted to the Arabs in 711 or 712, revolted in 713. The town was punished by pillage and all the notables had their throats cut. In 730, the Cerdagne (in Septimania, near Barcelona) was ravaged and a bishop burned alive. In the regions under stable Islamic control, Jews and Christians were tolerated as dhimmis – like elsewhere in other Islamic lands – and could not build new churches or synagogues nor restore the old ones. Segregated in special quarters, they had to wear discriminatory clothing. Subjected to heavy taxes, the Christian peasantry formed a servile class attached to the Arab domains; many abandoned their land and fled to the towns. Harsh reprisals with mutilations and crucifixions would sanction the Mozarab (Christian dhimmis) calls for help from the Christian kings. Moreover, if one dhimmi harmed a Muslim, the whole community would lose its status of protection, leaving it open to pillage, enslavement and arbitrary killing.
By the end of the eighth century, the rulers of North Africa and of Andalusia had introduced rigorous Maliki jurisprudence as the predominant school of Muslim law. Three quarters of a century ago, at a time when political correctness was not dominating historical publication and discourse, Lévi-Provençal, wrote:
The Muslim Andalusian state thus appears from its earliest origins as the defender and champion of a jealous orthodoxy, more and more ossified in a blind respect for a rigid doctrine, suspecting and condemning in advance the least effort of rational speculation.10
Al-Andalus represented the land of jihad par excellence. Every year, sometimes twice a year, raiding expeditions were sent to ravage the Christian Spanish kingdoms to the north, the Basque regions, or France and the Rhone valley, bringing back booty and slaves. Andalusian corsairs attacked and invaded along the Sicilian and Italian coasts, even as far as the Aegean Islands, looting and burning as they went. Many thousands of non-Muslim captives were deported to slavery in Andalusia, where the caliph kept a militia of tens of thousand of Christian slaves, brought from all parts of Christian Europe (the Saqaliba), and a harem filled with captured Christian women. Society was sharply divided along ethnic and religious lines, with the Arab tribes at the top of the hierarchy, followed by the Berbers who were never recognized as equals, despite their Islamization; lower in the scale came the mullawadun converts and, at the very bottom, the dhimmi Christians and Jews.
The Andalusian Maliki jurist Ibn Abdun (d. 1134) offered these telling legal opinions regarding Jews and Christians in Seville around 1100 A.D.:
No…Jew or Christian may be allowed to wear the dress of an aristocrat, nor of a jurist, nor of a wealthy individual; on the contrary they must be detested and avoided. It is forbidden to [greet] them with the [expression], “Peace be upon you’. In effect, ‘Satan has gained possession of them, and caused them to forget God’s warning. They are the confederates of Satan’s party; Satan’s confederates will surely be the losers!” (Qur’an 58:19 [modern Dawood translation]). A distinctive sign must be imposed upon them in order that they may be recognized and this will be for them a form of disgrace.11
Ibn Abdun also forbade the selling of scientific books to dhimmis under the pretext that they translated them and attributed them to their co-religionists and bishops. In fact, plagiarism is difficult to prove since whole Jewish and Christian libraries were looted and destroyed. Another prominent Andalusian jurist, Ibn Hazm of Cordoba (d. 1064), wrote that Allah has established the infidels’ ownership of their property merely to provide booty for Muslims.12

Dave,
Iberia encapsules Spain and portugal as a peninsula, does it not?
Nonetheless, the mayor of New York and his commission are allowing this travesty of a mosque to be built near the Saudi Arabian sponsored WTC bombing site. We are mad with weakness in America.

It's been a rough year ... Thanbks Judi Cole!
It's been a rough year!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a tough year, but so far, I’ve made it !!!
But not everyone is as lucky as I am......
The economy is so bad that I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail
I ordered a burger at McDonald's, and the kid behind the counter asked, "Can you afford fries with that?"
CEO's are now playing miniature golf.
If the bank returns your check marked "Insufficient Funds," you have to call them and ask if they mean you or them .
Hot Wheels and Matchbox stocks are trading higher than GM.
McDonald's is selling the 1/4 'ouncer'.
Parents in Beverly Hills and Malibu are firing their nannies and learning their children's names.
A truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into Mexico .
Dick Cheney took his stockbroker hunting.
Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore.
The Mafia is laying off judges.
BP Oil laid off 25 Congressmen.
Congress says they are looking into the Bernard Madoff scandal. Oh Great!! The guy who made $50 Billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $1.5 Trillion disappear !
And, finally...
I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, and our bleak future, that I called the Suicide Lifeline and was connected to a call center in Pakistan . When I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.

Origin of Numbers
Do you know why numbers look like they do? Someone, at some point in time, had to create their shapes and meaning. Watch this short powerpoint presentation and then you will know how our Arabic numbers were created a very long time ago and what logic the people that created them used to determine their shapes. It's really very simple and quite creative! You have to admire the intelligence of a person that created something so simple and perfect that it has lasted for thousands and thousands of years and will probably never change.
When the presentation gets to the number "seven" you will notice that the 7 has a line through the middle of it. That was the way the Arabic 7 was originally written, and in Europe and certain other areas they still write the 7 that way; the military commonly write it that fashion also. The nine has a kind of curly tail on it that has been reduced to a simple curve, but the logic involved still applies.

God's 26 Guards
Here's a message that will bring you chills.
Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and Then just put it on a list and said, 'I'll pray for them later'? Or has anyone ever called you and said, 'I need you to pray for me, I have this need?'
Read the following story that was sent to me and May it change the way that you may think about prayer and also the way you pray. You will be blessed by this....
A missionary on furlough told this true story while Visiting his home church in Michigan .
'While serving at a small field hospital in Africa , Every two weeks I traveled by bicycle Through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and Required camping overnight at the halfway point.
On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city Where I planned to collect money from a bank, Purchase medicine, and supplies, and then begin My two-day journey back to the field hospital.
Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, One of whom had been seriously injured.. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time Talked to him about the Lord..
I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and Arrived home without incident....
Two weeks later I repeated my journey. Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried Money and medicines. He said, 'Some friends and I followed you in to the jungle, Knowing you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs. But just as we were about to move into your camp, We saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards.
At this, I laughed and said that I was Certainly all alone in that jungle campsite.. The young man pressed the point, however, and said, 'No, sir, I was not the only person to see the guards, My friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that We were afraid and left you alone.'
At this point in the sermon, One of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened. The missionary told the congregation the date, and The man who interrupted told him this story:
'On the night of your incident in Africa , It was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in this church to meet with me here In the sanctuary to pray for you.
Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?' The men who had met together to pray that day stood up. The missionary wasn't concerned with whom they were, He was too busy counting how many men he saw.
There were 26.
This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in behalf of those who love Him. If you ever feel such prodding to pray, go along with it, you don't know what it can mean to that person.
Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell. I encourage you to forward this to as many people as you know. If we all take it to heart, We can turn this world toward God once again. As the above true story clearly illustrates, 'With God all things are possible'.
More importantly, how God hears and Answers the prayers of the faithful.
After you read this, please pass it on and Give God thanks for the beautiful gift of your faith, For the powerful gift of prayer, and for the many miracles He works in your own daily life.... And then pass it on. Who says God does not move on the earth today?
I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today. To guide you and protect you as you go along your way. His love is always with you, His promises are true, and when we give Him our cares you know He will see us through. So when the road you're traveling on seems difficult at best, Just remember I'm here praying, and God will do the rest.=
