*Subject:* Why I voted Democrat
WHY I VOTED DEMOCRAT
I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I
want.
I've decided to marry my horse.
I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon
of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15%
isn't.
I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of
spending the money I earn than I would.
I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is
offended by it.
I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys
will stop what they are doing because they now think we are good people.
I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know
that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and
thieves.
I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will
rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten
years if I don't start driving a Prius.
I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health
care, welfare, education, and Social Security benefits.
I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to
make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away
to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.
I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite The
Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get
their agendas past the voters.
I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my rear that it is
unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view!
Sweat dries, blood clots, bones heal. Suck it up. Be a MARINE.

Welcome
Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.
For Christian American readers of this blog:
I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.
The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!
A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:
"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed,somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."
Thanks Jack!
I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

Can a muslim be a good American? Thanks Dave Miller
CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS? (Please read)
CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS? (This is certainly 'food-for-thought'. What do you think?)
This is very interesting and we all need to read it from start to finish and send it on to everyone. Maybe this is why our American Muslims are so quiet and not speaking out about any atrocities. Can a good Muslim be A good American?
This question was forwarded to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.
The following is his reply:
Theologically - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia.
Religiously - no.. . .. Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)
Scripturally - no. . . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.
Geographically - no . Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.
Socially - no. . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews .
Politically - no.. . . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual Leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America , The great Satan.
Domestically - no. .. . Because he is instructed to marry four Women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34 )
Intellectually - no. . Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
Philosophically - no. . . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.
Spiritually - no.. . . Because when we declare 'one nation under God,' The Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to As Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 Excellent names.
Therefore, after much study and deliberation.... Perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. - - - They obviously cannot be both 'good' Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish it's still the truth. You had better believe it.. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.
The religious war is bigger than we know or understand. ....
Footnote: The Muslims have said they will destroy us from within.
SO FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

Art Linkletter wrote "Kids Say the Darndest Things" years ago, but ...
Kids are still saying them.
Some favorites of Jeanie's and mine:
Granddaughter Tobey @ 2- "I be back"- when leaving the room. "I back!" upon her grand return.
Granddaughter Ida @ 1- "I Gogus !"- when told she is a cutie.
Son, Jeff @ 2- when wrestling with dad on the family room floor- Dad would put him in a 'hold' and grab a smooch- "Smoochin' fightin'- Never heard of it! "
Sharon's grandson Cory@ 3- upon his return to the adults in his Grandma and Grandpa's basement- "Here comes Cory!"
Son Jeff @ 3 when returning to Jeanie and me at our car from the New Boston Little League diamond and asked about Jay's whereabouts- "Aw, he's down ther in that digout, shovel out, or sumpin' like that."
Morgan @ 5- when Jeanie asked about what's for dinner- " I don't like Ida Scout (escalloped) potatoes."
Son Jay @ 3- in Lexington when friend Ronnie was about to park and another guy grabs the spot- yells out at the big brute- "Hey! Get out of there. That's our spot!" Ronnie just gunned his big Crown Chrysler out of there.
Our teacher- neighbor of Een Park- Ford Newberry kept these kind of student or parent responses- Ford wrote a note for a parent to Please give Johnny a bath- He smells! He received back: "Don't small him- Larn him!"
I wish somebody would add theirs to these few in comments. Of course old people Jeanie and Sam repeat these many times to our friends and acquaintanceas. We all have some gems from the smaller set.

Observations on Growing Older
~Your kids are becoming you...and you don't like them
...but your grandchildren are perfect!
~Going out is good.
Coming home is better!
~When people say you look "Great"...
they add "for your age!"
~When you needed the discount you paid full price.
Now you get discounts on everything ...
movies, hotels, flights, but you're too tired to use them.
~You forget names ... but it's OK
because other people forgot
they even knew you!!!
~The 5 pounds you wanted to lose
is now 15 and you have a better chance
of losing your keys than the 15 pounds.
~You realize you're never going
to be really good at anything .... especially golf.
~Your husband is counting on you
to remember things you don't remember.
~The things you used to care to do,
you no longer care to do,
but you really do care that you
don't care to do them anymore.
~Your husband sleeps better on a lounge chair
with the TV blaring than he does in bed.
It's called his "pre-sleep".
~Remember when your mother said
"Wear clean underwear in case you GET in an accident"?
Now you bring clean underwear in case you HAVE an accident!
~You used to say,
"I hope my kids GET married ..
Now, "I hope they STAY married!"
~You miss the days when everything worked
with just an "ON" and "OFF" switch..
~When GOOGLE, ipod, email, modem ...
were unheard of, and a mouse was something
that made you climb on a table.
~You used to use more 4 letter words ...
"what?"..."when?" ???
~Now that you can afford
expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere.
~Your husband has a night out with the guys
but he's home by 9:00 P.M. ...next week it will be 8:30 P.M.
~You read 100 pages into a book before you realize you've read it.
~Notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"?!!!
~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.
~Everybody whispers.
~Now that your husband has retired ...
you'd give anything if he'd find a job!
~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet ...
2 of which you will never wear.
~~~~But old is good in some things:
old songs
old movies
Subject: FW: Story of a Challenged Senior!!!
THIS SOUNDS A LOT LIKE SOMEONE I KNOW................
Story of a Challenged Senior!!!
I thought about the 30 year business I ran with 1800 employees, all without a Blackberry that played music, took videos, pictures and communicated with Facebook and Twitter.
I signed up under duress for Twitter and Facebook, so my seven kids, their spouses, 13 grandkids and 2 great grand kids could communicate with me in the modern way. I figured I could handle something as simple as Twitter with only 140 characters of space.
That was before one of my grandkids hooked me up for Tweeter, Tweetree, Twhirl, Twitterfon, Tweetie and Twittererific Tweetdeck, Twitpix and something that sends every message to my cell phone and every other program within the texting world.
My phone was beeping every three minutes with the details of everything except the bowel movements of the entire next generation. I am not ready to live like this. I keep my cell phone in the garage in my golf bag.
The kids bought me a GPS for my last birthday because they say I get lost every now and then going over to the grocery store or library. I keep that in a box under my tool bench with the Blue tooth [it's red] phone I am supposed to use when I drive. I wore it once and was standing in line at Barnes and Noble talking to my wife as everyone in the nearest 50 yards
was glaring at me. Seems I have to take my hearing aid out to use it and I got a little loud.
I mean the GPS looked pretty smart on my dash board, but the lady inside was the most annoying, rudest person I had run into in a long time. Every 10 minutes, she would sarcastically say, "Re-calc-ul-ating" You would think that she could be nicer. It was like she could barely tolerate me. She would let go with a deep sigh and then tell me to make a U-turn at the next light. Then when I would make a right turn instead, it was not good.
When I get really lost now, I call my wife and tell her the name of the cross streets and while she is starting to develop the same tone as Gypsy, the GSP lady, at least she loves me.
To be perfectly frank, I am still trying to learn how to use the cordless phones in our house. We have had them for 4 years, but I still haven't figured out how I can lose three phones all at once and have run around digging under chair cushions and checking bathrooms and the dirty laundry baskets when the phone rings.
The world is just getting too complex for me. They even mess me up every time I go to the grocery store. You would think they could settle on something themselves but this sudden "Paper or Plastic?" every time I check out just knocks me for a loop.
I bought some of those cloth reusable bags to avoid looking confused but I never remember to take them in with me.
Now I toss it back to them. When they ask me, "Paper or Plastic?" I just say, "Doesn't matter to me. I am bi-sacksual.." Then it's their turn to stare at me with a blank look.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
Thanks Herma Mills, Sneaky law enforcement
Permit me to add this, Herma.
The City of Columbus also needed revenue this year. They set up speed traps on 315 south and had three sets of double patrol cars catching 'speeders' in a quickly 'signed' 45 mph zone due to the off ramp work. They got me at 62 mph (in what was normally 65 mph) and collected the double fine of $195. Did I consider this decent public service? Well ... NO! Please understand the typo on Well.
Our doctor's office is in sight of the southbound 315 traffic and employees there said the Columbus police were having the proverbial "field days" arresting the 'speeders' one after the other.
I want the law to be on the side of the tax paying public.
Subject: FW: Buckeye License renewal
Just wanted to pass on an email a friend shared with me today: This is
not a Joke
Hey Folks,
Just wanted to tell you all of a change in the law for renewing your
licenses, plates and stickers. In the past you had the entire month of your
birthday to renew. BUT..........due to the fact the Ohio State Highway Patrol
is running in a huge deficit, they changed the law so that you must renew
PRIOR to your birthday. This was due to the passage of HB2. They
intentionally did not inform anyone so they can attach a $20 late fee to every
person with a license in Ohio who doesn't know about the change! (I didn't
see any of this on the news or in the paper.) They got me for two cars this
month and they refused to waive it. That was $40 I had to pay. This state
is sneaky so I want to make sure that no other person pays it. Make
certain that you forward this email or one of your own to everyone you have in
your contact book. This is not right and we should not be tricked into
paying for the State's inability to run a business within a budget.
Senior- Thanks Dave Miller!
SMART ASS:
Two young businessmen in Florida were sitting down for a break
in their soon-to-be new store in the shopping mall. As yet, the store
wasn't ready, with only a few shelves and display racks set up.
One said to the other, "I'll bet that any minute now some senior
is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we're selling."
Sure enough, just a moment later, a curious senior gentleman walked
up to the window, looked around intensely and rapped on the glass,
then in a loud voice asked, "What are you sellin' here?"
One of the men replied sarcastically, "We're selling ass-holes."
Without skipping a beat, the old timer said, "You're doing well. Only two left."
Seniors -- don't mess with them, they've been around!
