Welcome
Welcome to my blog http://www.skegley.blogspot.com/ . CAVEAT LECTOR- Let the reader beware. This is a Christian Conservative blog. It is not meant to offend anyone. Please feel free to ignore this blog, but also feel free to browse and comment on my posts! You may also scroll down to respond to any post.
For Christian American readers of this blog:
I wish to incite all Christians to rise up and take back the United States of America with all of God's manifold blessings. We want the free allowance of the Bible and prayers allowed again in schools, halls of justice, and all governing bodies. We don't seek a theocracy until Jesus returns to earth because all men are weak and power corrupts the very best of them.
We want to be a kinder and gentler people without slavery or condescension to any.
The world seems to be in a time of discontent among the populace. Christians should not fear. God is Love, shown best through Jesus Christ. God is still in control. All Glory to our Creator and to our God!
A favorite quote from my good friend, Jack Plymale, which I appreciate:
"Wars are planned by old men,in council rooms apart. They plan for greater armament, they map the battle chart, but: where sightless eyes stare out, beyond life's vanished joys, I've noticed, somehow, all the dead and mamed are hardly more than boys(Grantland Rice per our mutual friend, Sarah Rapp)."
Thanks Jack!
I must admit that I do not check authenticity of my posts. If anyone can tell me of a non-biased arbitrator, I will attempt to do so more regularly. I know of no such arbitrator for the internet.

All from a moderate PUSA, Paul. One of The biggest crimes against America by any human, was that of the supposed moderate who sat there signing that stack of re-regulations, which our wonderful predecessor PUSA deleted to help MAGA! Then "Old Sleepy Joe" went back to bed for the day. I don't know if he has ever woken up from his nap. I pray that the middle voters of America wake up soon to what we have already lost in Biden's short presidency, but then become aware of what is before us and how important their verified votes are.. They don't seem to care. Talk about the 'ostriches sticking their heads in the sand ...'

After the republicans and democrat politicians have so badly screwed up our country- the most blessed country in God's created history, I somehow thought about Charles Barkley. Now, Old Sammy's sports entertainment has been topped by his being a Kentucky basketball fan after finishing my undergraduate degree at that wonderful institution in 1961. This was while I was trying to nap, which I do most times after waking early around 5 or 6, going to pick up the Columbus Disgrace newspaper, subscribed to by six of our thirty-seven condo in our one building resident, and doing a very quick workout in our very nice little workout room. Just keepin' the old fellow's joints moving, and his muscles from sagging less. I thought how wonderful it would be for Dolald Trump to win in 2024 and have Charles as his VP partner. I loved Mike Pence, veep with PUSA Trump and as a Christian representative of USA citizens. Charles would simply
Thank you, God for helping make me a Kentucky basketball fan. I have dredded games against Auburn's "Round Mound of Rebound", back in the days when Coach Joe B. Hall had to contend with the fellow. I love the man, Charles as his comments show his outstanding amount of 'common sense'.
I wish God would get Trump and Barkley together to lead this country out of our Soddom and Gomorrah ways.
I, in my very unimportant but wonderful capacity as an American citizen, would like to nominate Charles Barkley, once the fat boy basketball player, as the Ameican Citizen with the highest amount of Common Sense.

Joan Klitch, our great friend, Dick's widow, called last evening and told me they were planning a Celebration of Dick's life for Friday, Sept. 17 - 3 1/2 mos. from now.
Members of the Portsmouth Breakfast Group wondered if one had been planned, and I emailed her a few weeks ago, asking about it.
Dick and Joan had lived with their son, Tim and his wife in Austin, TX for the last few years after a stroke left Dick requiring help in walking and communicating for a
while. They raised their family in their Marble Cliff home near Grandview. He had been in hospice a while before he passed 1/31/21 in Austin.
Dick was on Halls of Fame for Tennis and Basketball at Miami of Ohio, Northam Tennis, signed his
star on the Portsmouth floodwall, won Portsmouth High School's only singles tennis championship, was part of the US Navy's tennis doubles championship in the Far
East, and was named a Portsmouth Ambassador. He was recognized as one of their finest athletes ever.
Because he also played basketball for the AAU Akron U semi-pro basketball teams after graduating from Miami, he was known all over the state and the world
or wherever he played any kind of ball. He called himself a 'meat and potatoes teaching pro' and was very well respected as a teaching pro. I neglected to catch the ≈
time of the event but ZI expect it will be nearly mid-day because Columbus is accessible from most parts of the state in just a couple of hours' drive.
Please advise any of those who might have known Mr. Klitch, Joan, or any of the popular and successful family.
Jeanie and I are so grateful to have shared many events with them,

If nominations for the best performing American voters were open, I would nominate and vote for the non-white 2016 and 2020 voters who picked President Donald Trump. The white American voters would be next in line.
The business-man President Trump easily outperformed all of the politician presidents outstandingly in my honest opinion! We had an actor-President who served nearly as amicably.
Joe Biden is a pretender who, in his half century as a politician supposed-representative of the people has simply represented his family and gained them riches due to his political offices.
I believe representative's efforts to permit and accelerate voting of people without verifiable identification as American citizens is criminal and the elected officials should create such a law.
I guess it is terrible to be a Conservative Christian in this shrinking religious nation.
I feel a dislike from some of my family and former friends because of such opinions, so be it! You should know where I stand.

In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man
is a shame, two is a law firm,
and three or more is a congress.
-- John Adams

you are uninformed, if you do
read the newspaper you are
misinformed. -- Mark Twain

suppose you were a member of
Congress. But then I repeat
myself. -- Mark Twain

trying to lift himself up by the
handle. --Winston Churchill

the support of Paul. -- George
Bernard Shaw
6. A liberal is someone who feels a

government is like giving whiskey

through which everybody
endeavors to live at the expense
of everybody else. -- Frederic
Bastiat , French economist(1801-1850)
11. Government's view of the
economy could be summed up
in a few short phrases: If it
moves, tax it. If it keeps
moving, regulate it. And if it
stops moving, subsidize it.

politics won't take an interest

strong enough to take everything
you have. -- Thomas Jefferson
25. We hang the petty thieves and
appoint the great ones to public
office. -- Aesop
FIVE BEST SENTENCES
1. You cannot legislate the poor into
prosperity, by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without
working for, another person must
work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to
anybody anything that the
government does not first take
from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by
dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the
idea that they do not have to work, because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the
beginning of the end of any nation!
Can you think of a reason for not sharing this?
Neither could I.

USA and Christians in 2021
USA and Christians in 2021

to me,
The leftists have done so much to discredit the Christian faith and all churches in the recent history of the United States of America. It is easy in today's society of this "greatest country on God's Green Earth" to say 'look at those hypocrites. As our entertainment has become more base, as well as so many other of society's devilish turns, corporate 'they' also say : Those goody two shoes do the same as we do, and they should not judge us.
As a youngster, I resented most seeing Phoniness in the character of others.
not genuine or real
(Entry 1 of 4) : not genuine or real: such as. a(1) : intended to deceive or mislead. (2) : intended to defraud : counterfeit.5 days ago
Phony | Definition of Phony by Merriam-Websterwww.merriam-webster.com › dictionary › phony
I have never met a perfect person and I make it a point to say so in the many books in which I have written about Acquaintances of Integrity or admirable people.
I accepted Christ as a youngster, as the greatest gift ever given in this world. What a gift it was for our creator to see the evil in this world by the beings he initiated on earth. In self-searching by the greatest of all, His plan was to allow his son to come to earth and unjustly suffer humiliation and torture by those very beings, us. The point being that the man, Jesus, was such a great kind and gentle teacher, whose life events of miracles and goodness have
lived on for the two-thousand plus years after his death, and wonderful resurrection.
I am 'Old Sammy' now, and I still resent phonies. Pastor Frank, the preacher of two first names, Frank Carl, of Genoa Church, only a few miles above our Condo in Westerville, gave a story about calling his 25-year old grandson in Denver. It was just to check on him because of their greater than four-foot wild snowstorm this past week. "Grandpa, why did you just call? I just saw a man on a corner who was obviously cold and alone, so I asked myself 'what would my grandfather do', then you called. I thought about it and gave the man my very loved Ohio State University blanket from my car.
Pastor Frank has preached for forty years but also said this morning that the outdoor services at Genoa this past year have affected his ministry more than all of the other years combined. One sure reason is that he is seeing many people come into the church from the parking lot services to be baptized.
As I was impressed by the grandson's- what would grandpa do, I thought of Old Sammy i.e. - me. I am the oldest of my mother's and dad's family now and I don't believe any member of our relatives does not know that Old Sammy wants to be a Chrisitan, but this old guy is certainly not perfect. Moreover, they have shown some resentment for this Christian Conservative and resent his politics.
Am I a phony then? I certainly hope not! I am glad Pastor Frank's grandson thought enough of the actions of his grandpa, rather than the fact that Pastor Frank stands out to my beautiful Jeanie and me as one of the best heart-felt sermon deliverers we have heard. We have also been privileged to be friends of so many excellent preacher friends.
Sam Kegley
Also, thanks to the wonderful friends of ours who have helped young Jeanie recover so well from her broken hip with their heart-felt wishes and prayers. Pastor Frank noticed that my girl was with me as we departed the parking lot, and came to our car and greeted her with more well-wishes. My favorite verse from Jesus' Sermon on the mount, in Matthew, has always been: Judge not ye that be not judged. I never mean to judge. But I believe I will see a lot of preachers and others who are our friends in Heaven, and I am happy that God let's us witness greatness among such Christians on earth as it is in Heaven.
